Hardware presentation

Hardware presentation here. Again, to view it you need to download it, because it only loads in OpenOffice.

D1- Today I'm gonna talk about computer hardware, which is the physical part of a computer, the components it is made of.

D2- The first component im going to talk about is the CPU, what stands for central processing unit. Its taskis to perform some instructions given to it in form of a program.

D3- The CPU reads the instructions, interprets them, performs its task, and repeats the process. This is known as the instruction cycle. To measure a CPU's power, we need to know how many times in a second it can perform this cycle. This is measured in GHz.

D4- Next up is the RAM. The RAM is a memory that gives access to data in any order. It stands for random-
access memory. It is by far the fastest memory to read in a computer. The RAM is usually volatile, what means that whenever the computer is set off, all the memory stored is lost, and has to be re-filled by the hard drive. This is what makes turning on a computer take some time.

D5- The HD, or Hard-Drive, is a non-volatile storage unit. It contains the

D6- Operating system

D7- Installed software and programs

D8- And the user's files

D9- And finally, the cache memory is the component, located inside the CPU, that helps it retrieve frequently used information. It stores data to help the computer load faster than if it had to retrive it every single time.
